Skincare | Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream Cover & Bright Fit

Let me start by saying that buying this BB cream was an impulse buy. I did not do extensive research online before I bought this, so yes, this is a risky purchase. What can I say? I like to live dangerously.

I was curious though. I mean, what is all this hoo haa about BB Creams and are they sooo great? I just had to find out for myself. Of course, I’ll be spilling out all the deets with you so you’d know what to expect and then it won’t be so much of a risky buy for you. Let’s check out Etude House’s Precious Mineral BB Cream Cover & Bright Fit with SPF 30.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION : (a few words from the brand)

This is a Cover and Bright Fit BB Cream that smoothly glides onto skin with its Double Fitting Concealer Technology for flawless coverage and clean, bright, natural looking skin with its pearl extract.

It is sold for the low low price of 600 peysows. But wait, there’s more! If you order right now, we’ll slash a whopping 100% so you get it for free! What are you waiting for? (you totally read that like that guy on home TV shopping. What’s wrong with you?) Seriously tho, it retails for around P600 and sold in all Etude House boutiques. That’s a pretty good price for 35g worth of  product.

Oh will you look at that… It comes in a lightweight plastic tube! How wonderful. Unlike some liquid foundations that come in heavy bottles, (I’m looking at you, Revlon) this one is absolutely light weight so you can carry it around in your make up kit. It’s also in a squeeze tube so you can be sure you’ll get your money’s worth and zero wastage! (I’m not sure if “wastage” is even a real word… UPDATE: Googled it, yes it is!)

I think it comes in three shades, I don’t know I really didn’t pay much attention. I think there’s Light Beige, Natural Beige and Honey Beige but the sales lady said I should get the Light Beige because it will eventually oxidize especially because I am acidic. WRONG! It did not oxidize to match my skin tone at all. So when you do get this, make sure you get the one that exactly matches your skin tone from the beginning. No oxidation happened whatsoever, so now I have a BB cream one skin tone lighter than my fucking face. 🙂 I am so angry on the inside about this. (*screams internally!!!*)

The cream itself is thick but blends just fine. It feels a bit sticky too… definitely feels like I’m wearing product on my face.

Bare face – Freckles and sun spots, acne scars, redness, uneven skin tone and the whole shebang. Also some mild peeling from using Tretinoin. Probably some scaling too because I’m also secretly a reptile.

One layer – No coverage at all for my freckles and sun spots, but one layer was able to address the redness so it evened my skin tone a bit. I can definitely feel I have product on my face.

Two layers – Yes, finally SOME coverage for my dark spots. Definitely also brightened my complexion. I know it doesn’t show in the picture but gosh my face is so luminous AF. I think this is what BB creams are really fighting for… that hydrated, dewy look.

Hmm… surely light coverage. I don’t think BB Creams are supposed to be as powerful as liquid foundations and are only a step above tinted moisturizers, so it’s not ideal if you want maximum coverage. What it did though was brighten and moisturize my face. My face is literally so dewy and so luminous, like i’ve been a good girl and religiously moisturize, which is so not the case TBH. What sort of sorcery is this?!!

It stayed a good 4-5 hours on my face without needing a retouch, but it wore out shortly after. Not long wearing and is probably not intended for hot, summer days unless you want to melt into a puddle of mud just like Olaf in summer time. (pardon the Frozen reference, I’m still so hung over because of my daughter’s obsession which you can read HERE just for fun…)

  • Affordable at more or less P600 for 35g
  • Has SPF 30
  • Lightweight easy squeeze container
  • Dewy and luminous finish

  • Did not oxidize to match skin tone
  • Light coverage for skin imperfections
  • Feels a little sticky

Depending on what you’re looking for, you’d either love or hate this product. If you’re looking for coverage, you’re in the wrong neighborhood brah, sorry. But if you’re genetically lucky enough to have an already clear face free from acne and spots and just needs a certain oomph, then you might just love it. It’s a bit weird because it FEELS sticky and drying, but your skin LOOKS hydrated, healthy, and luminous. So, I don’t know how you’d feel about that. Again, it depends on what exactly you’re looking for.

As for me, I’m still incredibly insecure about my skin, so… maaaybe just a few more uses so I won’t feel totally guilty wasting my money? But on days when I want light to medium coverage, I think I will still go for L’oreal True Match Super Blendable Foundation.

I hope this clues you in on what to expect from Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream… Again, this is just a recount from my own personal experience. Hope it helps!

Thanks for reading, you’re awesome 🙂

Til next !
