Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken & Sauce Bar

It’s sort of bitter sweet that we had to say goodbye to a favorite chill spot at Town Center – the Australian burger goodness that is Stackers Burger. The franchise has recently been pulled out of the Philippines, so that sucks. But as the old goes, the new comes in – enter Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken and Sauce Bar. Since coming to the Philippines in … Continue reading Peri Peri Charcoal Chicken & Sauce Bar

Halloween Party Schedules 2017

Halloween parties are always fun! I personally love Halloween because it’s a great excuse to dress my daughter up as a Sausage. (Just kidding. I haven’t dressed her up as a sausage but it’s never too late!) Plus there are always games, activities, contests and candies! Not that we actually participate… but it’s just fun all around. It’s definitely one of the perks of being … Continue reading Halloween Party Schedules 2017

buku-buku-kafe-now-open

Grub alert!

Buku Buku Kafe’s second branch is now on its soft opening at the food street of SM Southmall, just in front of Zark’s Burger and will have its grand opening day on December 8, 2016 Thursday.

When you’re craving for some delicious nosh or just looking for a place to chill, Buku Buku Kafe pretty much has got you covered. I found the food to be reasonably priced (note: not necessarily cheap) but surely a bang for your buck, a cafe that really has something different to offer.

Read the whole feature for food pics and full menu 🙂

Eats | Tetsu Japanese Restaurant

Konnichiwa, tadaima!

I don’t know what I just said, but i’m pretty sure it sounded Japanese, and I thought it goes well with our Featured Restaurant this week.

There are days when you just crave Japanese food. That’s an inevitable part of life we should all learn to live with and love. I’ve embraced the fact that a few times a week, I’ll dream about eating a tray of delectable california maki topped with Japanese mayo and dipped in trusty Kikkoman, or on rainy days, a bowl full of comforting ramen.

There’s no need to fight those cravings you guys. Give in and indulge. Lucky for us, there’s no shortage of Japanese restaurants in the Philippines. In fact, we’ve totally embraced the ramen culture.

It was that craving that led ThatLaidBackChic to Tetsu Japanese Restaurant.

Tetsu Japanese Restaurant isn’t new. The one in SM Southmall opened about 2 years ago, closed shop for a while and then reopened this year with a brand new look. They serve authentic Japanese dishes and I mean the whole shebang. Ramen, sushi, tempura, maki, and even Wagyu beef.

10 Light Movies That Are Sure To Inspire You

I hate drama. Whether in real life or in the movies, I am absolutely allergic to drama. I get that from the daily political news already and truth be told, there’s more than enough drama from Senator Leila De Lima to last us a long time.

So when it comes to entertainment, I choose to keep it real light because a film doesn’t have to be heavy to have a huge impact.

Here we have ThatLaidBackChic’s Top 10 Light But Inspiring Movies of All Time

There’s a new chill spot in Evia for all my sweets loving peeps of the south, and you’ll be delighted to know it’s both delicious AND affordable.

Cold Layers first opened in Greenhills around year 2011, closed shop and moved to Fisher Mall in Quezon City where they still are now. A few years later, they opened a new branch in Evia Daang Hari and is now on its soft opening and we sure are glad about it!

Let’s take a peek at their cafe! (Which is really me saying let’s eat everything on the menu, basically.)

Skincare | OST C20 Vitamin C Serum

OST Cosmetics C20 Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum

This is my first foray into advanced skin care. If you’ve been reading my previous beauty posts, you know I’m only beginning to be nicer to my skin. (and also because I want to get rid of adult acne. P*+@~$*!#+!!

I have tried Western skin care in the past, as well products from the derma’s clinic. See below :

But I wasn’t getting close to improving my skin. (Let’s save that for another blog post!)

So, I decided to try Korean skin care this time. After all, I’m here picking my nose clueless of where to begin, and they’ve already developed a 10-step skin care system. Makes you think the ladies there have a lot of free time. Anyway speaking of a lot, After A LOT of research, and I mean a shit ton of research, I came up with products I could try. And so…

Let’s start with OST C20 Vitamin C Serum and see if it works!
