Buku Buku Kafe’s second branch is now on its soft opening at the food street of SM Southmall, just in front of Zark’s Burger and will have its grand opening day on December 8, 2016 Thursday.
When you’re craving for some delicious nosh or just looking for a place to chill, Buku Buku Kafe pretty much has got you covered. I found the food to be reasonably priced (note: not necessarily cheap) but surely a bang for your buck, a cafe that really has something different to offer.

I don’t know what I just said, but i’m pretty sure it sounded Japanese, and I thought it goes well with our Featured Restaurant this week.
There are days when you just crave Japanese food. That’s an inevitable part of life we should all learn to live with and love. I’ve embraced the fact that a few times a week, I’ll dream about eating a tray of delectable california maki topped with Japanese mayo and dipped in trusty Kikkoman, or on rainy days, a bowl full of comforting ramen.
There’s no need to fight those cravings you guys. Give in and indulge. Lucky for us, there’s no shortage of Japanese restaurants in the Philippines. In fact, we’ve totally embraced the ramen culture.
It was that craving that led ThatLaidBackChic to Tetsu Japanese Restaurant.
Tetsu Japanese Restaurant isn’t new. The one in SM Southmall opened about 2 years ago, closed shop for a while and then reopened this year with a brand new look. They serve authentic Japanese dishes and I mean the whole shebang. Ramen, sushi, tempura, maki, and even Wagyu beef.

There’s a new chill spot in Evia for all my sweets loving peeps of the south, and you’ll be delighted to know it’s both delicious AND affordable.
Cold Layers first opened in Greenhills around year 2011, closed shop and moved to Fisher Mall in Quezon City where they still are now. A few years later, they opened a new branch in Evia Daang Hari and is now on its soft opening and we sure are glad about it!
Let’s take a peek at their cafe! (Which is really me saying let’s eat everything on the menu, basically.)

OST Cosmetics C20 Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum
This is my first foray into advanced skin care. If you’ve been reading my previous beauty posts, you know I’m only beginning to be nicer to my skin. (and also because I want to get rid of adult acne. P*+@~$*!#+!!
I have tried Western skin care in the past, as well products from the derma’s clinic. See below :

But I wasn’t getting close to improving my skin. (Let’s save that for another blog post!)
So, I decided to try Korean skin care this time. After all, I’m here picking my nose clueless of where to begin, and they’ve already developed a 10-step skin care system. Makes you think the ladies there have a lot of free time. Anyway speaking of a lot, After A LOT of research, and I mean a shit ton of research, I came up with products I could try. And so…
Let’s start with OST C20 Vitamin C Serum and see if it works!

Titas of the South, rejoice! Japan’s very own St. Marc Cafe has arrived South of Manila. If you haven’t had the chance to check it out, I took a peek for you 😉

I may have told you before how I used to like my face being dry and squeaky clean. I didn’t think much of skin care in the past and as long as I washed my face with soap before bed, I thought I was treating it well. If I got a blocked pore (which happened only all. the friggin. time.) I would be like “how dare you! I washed you with soap last night you ungrateful b*tch.”
For a long time, I’ve neglected the fact that Hydration is key to good skin and I used to think that moisturizers were only for people who have dry skin and live in colder countries. A little research and a few moisturizers later, I’ve proven my old self wrong. I am now a convert and have repented for my sin against my skin. Whether you have dry skin or oily, living in North Pole or the Philippines, you. need. hydration. Drinking water isn’t enough because the skin is the last to benefit from the water we take, so our skin needs a little more boost. Trust me, your future self will thank you later. 🙂
